Kiwanis Club of Kanata-Stittsville
We serve the children of the local community of Kanata and Stittsville.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
We are an eclectic mix of ages, genders, occupations, backgrounds and interests. We are all passionate about making our community and the world a better place for children so they can thrive. We are devoted to serving the children in our local community and also children all across the country and worldwide through unique and innovative service projects and fundraising initiatives.

Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville
The Rotary Club of Ottawa Stittsville is a friendly, service-oriented club dedicated to improving the lives of others both in our community and around the world. Established in 2004 with a motto of Service Above Self, our club is one of 9 Rotary clubs in Ottawa. We carry out a variety of projects and activities with a focus on the community, environment, youth, indigenous peoples, and international projects. Operation Come Home Food Drive
Date: Sat Sep 12, 2026, from 10am-2pm
Location: In front of Your Independent Grocer, Stittsville Main
Description: Collect donated food items/cash for youth at-risk
SBA Member opportunities: Volunteers collect items in 1-hour shifts at the booth
Truth and Reconciliation Event
Date: Sep 30, 2026 from 5:30-7:30pm
Location: WJ Bell Rotary Peace Park, 1751 Stittsville Main
Description: Working with Legacy of Hope Foundation in Indigenous-led ceremony on the labyrinth in the park
SBA Member opportunities: You are welcome to join in the ceremony. Children are welcome to paint orange rocks.
MUMs for Thanksgiving
Date: Oct 1-3, 2026
Location: Sell potted plants & deliver later in October in defined car routes across Ottawa
Description: Sell and deliver potted chrysanthemums in time for Thanksgiving to support Rotary community projects
SBA Member opportunities: a) Sell potted MUMS to businesses and individuals
b) Teams of 2 deliver MUMS by car to recipients on defined routes
Clean Up the Capital
Date: TBD between Sep 15 and Oct 15 in 2026 and in 2027. 5:30pm to 7pm
Location: WJ Bell Rotary Peace Park, 1751 Stittsville Main and surrounding area
Description: City-wide campaign to make Ottawa clean, green and litter-free
SBA Member opportunities: Volunteers pick up garbage in specific routes. Equipment supplied.
Stittsville Rotary International Film Series
Date: Film shown on last Monday of Sep to Dec (fall) and Feb to May (winter) at 4pm and at 7pm
Location: Landmark Cinemas, Kanata
Description: 4 TIFF films in Fall 2026 and in Winter 2027 Series. Cost pp is $60 for each four-film pass.
SBA Member opportunities: Sponsors and patrons are welcome.
Trivia Night
Date: Fri March 12, 2027 TBC (25th Annual)
Location: Stittsville Lions Club Hall, Stittsville Main Street
Description: Teams of 8 compete in 10 rounds of trivia questions. Prizes, free popcorn and pizza.
SBA Member opportunities: Donation of prizes is welcome. Form a team and compete for fun and support a good cause!

Stittsville Food Bank
The Stittsville Food Bank provides a helping hand to those in need in the Stittsville Ward 6 boundary in the City of Ottawa in the former Township of Goulbourn, which includes the communities of Stittsville and the surrounding rural areas. We distribute non-perishable and perishable food items as well as a limited list of personal toiletries. The Stittsville Food Bank is run entirely by unpaid volunteers and has been in operation since 1992.

Stittsville Friendship Club
The Stittsville Friendship Club was established to provide recreational, social, and physical fitness programs for adults in the Ottawa area and to encourage charitable interaction with the community through publicly available scholarships, bursaries, and other forms of financial assistance to students, as well as supporting local food banks and charities.

Stittsville Goulbourn Horticultural Society
The Stittsville Goulbourn Horticultural Society was founded in 1962. Our members range from Master Gardeners to first time gardeners and all are welcome. We are a volunteer organization and volunteers are given an opportunity to participate in special community projects. We meet on the Third Tuesday of the month, January is zoom only and we do not meet in July, August or December. We have meet at the Fringewood Community Centre in Stittsville.

Photo Competition
Third Tuesday in February
Our members submit photos for several categories including our John Curry Award which goes to the most newsworthy photo. The photos are judged, money paid to first place in each category and to the Best in Show. We have a trophy for the John Curry Award and for Best in Show.

Carp Fairgrounds
This is an event with our society, West Carleton Garden Club and Horticultural Society and Kanata-March Horticulture Society. The vendors donate a prize and at entry people pay 2 dollars for 3 tickets to try to win the prizes. All the entry/ticket money and money from the canteen after expenses is split between the 3 societies for our local food banks. We feature local vendors and lots of seeds!

We are planting native plants in this small park and encouraging pollinators. We regularly have volunteers for planting and weeding and mulching and encourage photographers.

Stittsville Village Association
The Stittsville Village Association is a group of volunteers that includes residents and business owners from a variety of backgrounds. Some of us have lived in the community for decades, while some of us are new residents who want to get involved and make a difference.
We organize three major annual events: the annual Parade of Lights (December), Canada Day (July 1), and Arts in the Park (June), as well as other activities throughout the year. We also engage with our City Councillor and advocate for issues that are important to our growing community, including planning and development, traffic and transit, and youth and seniors issues.

West Side Pride
West Side Pride is a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to creating safe, accessible and joyful spaces for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Ottawa’s west end and the surrounding rural Ottawa Valley regions. Founded in 2023 by a dedicated group of local organizers, we provide a much-needed, close-to-home alternative to large, downtown urban festivals, making Pride truly accessible to suburban and small-town residents.

West Side Pride Festival
Saturday, July 25, 2026 (11am-4pm)
Our flagship event, the West Side Pride Festival takes place every July at Alexander Grove Park in Stittsville and is a free, family-friendly and completely accessible celebration with an afternoon of entertainment, a children’s area, Community Fair, free parking and great food.
SBA Member opportunities: West Side Pride offers a Sponsorship Package with many levels of support, including ‘in-kind’ such as prizes or services. Our socials carry thousands of viewers and studies show that 85% of LGBTQ+ consumers will shift their spending to businesses and brands that visibly support the queer community.
Other events include our annual flag raising and Vigil for the Trans Day of Remembrance on November 20.
Religious and Spiritual Organizations
Stittsville Muslim Association
SMA was formed in 2019 to create a strong Muslim community and provide a much-needed prayer space for the growing Muslim population of Stittsville. SMA, the first mosque in Stittsville, is a registered charity managed and maintained by dedicated volunteers. SMA helps create a sense of community and belonging for Muslims across Stittsville and the greater Ottawa area.
