The Stittsville Business Association recently conducted its annual membership survey, and the results are in! We are thrilled to see such strong engagement and enthusiasm from our members. Your feedback helps us shape the future of our association, ensuring that we continue to offer valuable resources, networking opportunities, and a thriving business community.
Who Are Our Members?
The majority of our respondents (83.3%) are business owners, with the remainder identifying as professionals (8.3%) or other (8.3%). This highlights the SBA’s role in supporting local entrepreneurs and fostering business connections.
Why Did You Join the SBA?
Every single respondent (100%) joined the SBA to be part of a supportive community, emphasizing the importance of local collaboration. Other key reasons included:
- Networking Opportunities (83.3%)
- Learning Opportunities (66.7%)
- Lending Credibility to Their Business (50%)
- Business Development (41.7%)
- Presentations from Experts (41.7%)
Renewal and Satisfaction
We’re proud to report that 100% of respondents are very likely to renew their membership and recommend the SBA to others. Additionally, 83.3% found their membership investment to be very fair for the value received, while 16.7% found it fair.
Engagement and Communication
While social media is a great way to stay connected, email remains the preferred method of communication (75%). Among social media platforms, Instagram (50%) and Facebook (41.7%) were the most popular.

Volunteering and Future Growth
Half of our respondents (50%) are interested in occasional volunteering, while 8.3% are open to taking on leadership roles. Some great suggestions for growth included:
- Increasing exposure for members’ businesses in the community
- Expanding networking and learning events
- More diverse events, including panels and social-only gatherings
- Encouraging member referrals with incentives
- Developing a digital hub with shared business resources
What Members Love About the SBA
The overwhelming theme in responses was community and connection. Members appreciate:
- The shop local focus and education sessions
- The ability to exchange ideas and experiences with other business owners
- The thriving business network that SBA has created
