It’s more iconic than the water tower…
It’s more talked about than that Carp Road pothole…
It’s Stittsville versus Stittsville in…
The Battle of STITTSVILLE: Euchre Tournament!
Yes, we said it: We’re hosting a Euchre Tournament! And all of Stittsville’s service clubs, media organizations, and government representatives are invited!
We at the SBA created this event for two main purposes: First and foremost, to bring our community even closer together. The organizations serving the town of Stittsville work hard to help the people here, and they truly care. Yet there is always room for us to become even more closely knit. And that’s what the Euchre Tournament is all about: bringing us closer, both as organizations and as people.
That closeness serves us when we’re in need. For example: when the Stittsville Village Association needs extra hands to deliver their amazing Canada Day celebrations, when the Stittsville Friendship Club takes a senior who is all alone and brings them on a group outing to be surrounded by friends, and when a derecho blows through our lives and the Lions Club uses their kitchen to serve hot meals.
We at the SBA want to foster even more of that closeness, including to help the businesses we represent become even more deeply involved in those efforts.
The second purpose of this event is to directly give back to the people in Stittsville who need some love: This is a fundraiser for the Stittsville Food Bank, happening precisely at a time when perhaps donor fatigue has set in after the Christmas and holiday rushes—in the dead of winter.
Oh, and by the way:
It’s going to be the most epic battle this town has ever seen…
